Stefan started his career working for a family owned transmission shop in Eugene, Oregon. Where he learned how to repair and service transmissions for every make and model.
At that time, he was also building his own personal race car from a Subaru STI, which he autocrossed in the local car club regularly. His passion for Subaru grew from that vehicle and when given the opportunity to work for a professional tuning shop in Portland, he took a job at Surgeline.
Surgeline specialized in performance vehicles specifically Subaru, and that business grew to a much wider variety of sports cars. The company was purchased by COBB for a short period of time where Stefan helped their product development team build and develop parts for the company. When Cobb got out of the retail market the company was purchased by private ownership, and he continued there for several years working on Performance cars.
Ready to branch out on his own he took the opportunity to start Redline Motorwerks and continue his passion for performance cars.
Tyler is deeply connected to the Oregon car community as a 5th generation Oregonian with roots that trace back to the Oregon Trail. His career has taken him to many different industries with his entrepreneurial spirit and pride in serving Oregon communities.
Working on his own cars, with Stefan on project cars, and participating in motorsport brought his passion for automotive work to the forefront of his focus.
Whether he’s driving his mint condition BMW M3, Porsche 911 K24A-swap, or one of the many shop project cars that Stefan and he have worked on over the years, cars continue to represent freedom and independence in his life. From parts acquisition, build planning, and wrenching, to organization, administration, and scheduling – Tyler keeps the gears turning like a well oiled machine.
With his childhood friend, Stefan, and a dream of building unique and performance focused cars, Tyler keeps things organized at Redline Motorwerks in order to serve the Hillsboro, Oregon car community with expert diagnostic and car mechanic services.
